Hello all, I am halfway through replacing my rear main seal. Figured I would do it while I was replacing my clutch. I just pulled the bearing cap and, as you can see in the attached pictures, the seal had apparently walked itself around a little. Both halves were sticking out about a half inch or so. Is there anything that would cause this that I should address or is it just something that happens? I couldn't find anyone who had this happen. Just curious, thanks.

Some folks like to do that with the seal so the two halves don't meet at the mating surface along with everything else.

Follow the FSM and put red Loctite on the mating surface. I went through three FelPros before I bought a Mopar and it was dry for eight months until I did a 1600 mile torture tour to Canada and back on the WABDR...now I have a tiny little drip.
