Hey folks looking for some advice. I've got a 2000 with a 4" lift and 33" tires. I've heard about Coilover suspensions and I think it may be a good fit for the problem I'm trying to solve. I spend a lot of time backpacking and I use my jeep to get me to trailheads. Some of the roads to get to the trailhead are worthy of the jeep, but there's a bunch of pavement to cover before I get there. The stiffness the works on the road is too stiff of the trail.
From what I know of a coilover suspension, it's a fairly simple option to reduce the stiffness of the suspension when I get to the trailhead and switch back when it's time to hit the road. I know I could achieve the same by airing down, and that's something I'm considering as well.
Any thoughts from the collective? Any of you using coilover and would recommend it for my situation. Also interested if any of you have a better idea or just wouldn't recommend coilover.
Thanks folks
