Console lid latch

I've read thru the posts here and I've Googled the Fu out of this. I need the Storage Bin Lid Latch / part # 4741954 (or with a leading zero 04741954). I have placed 3 orders online and all 3 got canceled. I assume due to them not having it in stock. I just placed another order this morning @ bamwholesaleparts.com . We'll see if it gets fulfilled. Nothing on ebay in stock, nothing in my local salvage yard, nothing else online. Even chatgpt can't find it in anywhere.
Am I doing something wrong in my search for this or is this really that hard to find?
This isn't the lock cylinder it's the "sleeve" and latch parts.
The end of the latch on my is broken so it doesn't "catch".

Probably have to look for a used one at a salvage yard or Ebay.

Newest TJ is 20 yrs old. Parts like that are long gone.

Junkyard, ebay for people breaking down Jeeps.

Oh man, that's lame! They had sent me an email and called. They gave me the option to continue with placing the order or waiting. There were a few other places I remember seeing the part as well before I put in the order. I'll see if I can dig them up and if they're 'stocked'.

The console lid on my 2005 TJ was severely cracked upon my purchase and had an aftermarket cover over that, which made pressing and releasing the latch button difficult. So, I bought the imaged used one on eBay ($75 shipped), which had a functioning latch assy but no key. Lid color not taupe to match my original but it does match the dash center bezel, which appealed. That lid came without an original key to lock/unlock, so I removed that and installed my fully functional original assy and all is well. That removed latch assy as well as my original have fully plastic externals including the latch itself rather than a metal latch as shown in post #1.

Regardless, I have no use for it, despite not having discarded that with my original console lid. The button and latch do function properly. If it'll fit yours, its up for grabs...

These things SUCK atleast in my experience. You need to wiggle them and pull on the lid to get the it to open
