Coolant smell

Coolant smell when I turn on the heat in Jeep, Does that mean that I need to replace my heater core. Cannot see any leak under the jeep or comeing from anywhere else on the radiator/ engine

probably wont be long. start looking for a shop that rebuilds radiators/ heater cores so you dont go thru the lack of heat that you'll have from aftermarket heater cores.....I'm in the same boat, been noticing that sweet smell with heat on..

So how are is it to replace the old Heater core?

I haven't done it yet, but looks like you have to remove the dash and I'm betting it aint fun. might be a 12 pack job for sure !

I've been smelling mine for about 3 years when I run the heater only. I loose about a 1/2 pint of coolant between oil changes and have no signs of puddles on the ground or wet carpet. I'll get it done one of these days when I get a round tuit.

Lol hope I can wait that long, just back washed the heater core and got the junk of the core
