Could a very high pitched whistle be an exhaust manifold leak?

During acceleration only, there is a very faint high pitched whistle, (like dog whistle high).
My 98 4.0 runs like a top and it passed smog test.
IF this is the manifold, how long can I (should I) let it go?
My plan is to replace it with the one I saw recommended here by Jerry (below).
Lastly, what is the level of difficulty for this job? I'm not too dumb, and I have the tools, but no major experience with engine repair.
Just trying to get ahead of this.

If it increases with RPMs it's more likely a bad pulley or tensioner, but you can try tightening the manifold bolts which work themselves loose sometimes.

Seems unlikely that a high pitched whistle would be an exhaust manifold leak.
