Got a question already been stumped for a few days now. Recently we replaced the fuel pump assembly on the Jeep. Now once everything was reconnected the dang thing won't stay cranked. It will start one out 30 tries and crank idle perfect for about 3 mins tops then it spits and sputters and won't even stay cranked. Could this be the purge valve?

Did you hear the fuel line connector click into place? And I doubt the purge valve has anything to do with the problem.

By the way, for most of us at least, cranking is different from starting. The starter motor cranks the engine until it starts. Using them interchangeably when diagnosing a starting issue can be confusing. :)

@Kristie, are you getting a purge valve or purhe solenoid code?
Also, when you replaced the fuel pump, there are small plastic vacuum connectors that can break if not careful.when the gas tank is dropped.
This happened to me and it caused a purge code to throw. Replaced connector and secured vacuum line and it resolved the purge code issue
