Hey I have already conceded to the TRUTH and purchasing the 1541H Manganese Steel shafts. I did not join this JEEP TJ Forum to be a Know it All I joint for honest opinions and advice - I just might take me a little more then a simple YES or NO to convince me as I'm rather thorough minded to get a the proper solution.

Considering this is my very 1st question and I don't know any of you - In general, I believe we hit on all the if, when or buts and I understand. That's why I why I Posted the Topic - I hope what was discussed will be a reference thread for others asking the same question.

DO NOT think I don't appreciate the time, Input and patience I put you TJ Guru's through ;o)

13 OBA - please stick around, and keep your mind open. Everyone in this thread is participating to help and share. They won't steer you wrong. This is an awesome forum, and you'll be amazed at the collective knowledge, experience, and genuine desire to help other forum members here. However, chops do get busted on a regular basis, so thick skin, which you've shown in this thread, helps! Welcome!

Earned my degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science just in time for a big downturn in those industries in the US. So pretty rusty on that in practice. @mrblaine is speaking truth. Steel is so useful because slight changes in the alloy can create wildly different properties for different uses.

One of these days I'm going to get my GED for actually completing high school.

You received the correct answer in the first 2 replies. The other 3 pages of bullshit were you just being stubborn.

I seem to be late to the Joust - I kinda over slept my afternoon nap ;o)

First of all I must thank all the Forum Members participating in my thread.
I do highly respect the Qualified Personal handing me advise and I am not dismissing it. We all can see the damage on the outer bearing surfaces of them Chromoly shafts; however, I saying it was not the fault of the shaft material, it started with a failed or failing bearing probably caused by leaking seals some time after a Mud Bath. Yes I agree that a 1541H Manganese Steel shaft will take more punishment under similar circumstances. With over 250,000 kilometers I have not damaged my stock axle shafts although I have muddy them once or twice but have always replaced the seals and bearing if required and changed out the Diff-Fluid shortly after a Muddy Encounter.

Given that the majority of TJ Forum Member recommend using 1541H Manganese Steel shafts over Chomoly in the Dana 35 rear End I will heed your advice and reluctantly purchase the 1541H shafts over the chromoly axles driven by 5:13 Gears and Lunch Box Lockers understanding that the 1541H shafts may not handle that style of Locker especially if I accidentally Buck it too Hard ;o(
