I am thinking about swapping my Dana 35 for a Dana 44 out of an F100 from around the 50s. I would be completely building this axle with a locker bracket kit axles and probably a disk conversion. Has anyone done an axle swap from from this truck. Pros? Cons?

You want to build an axle from scratch. Do a ford 9 inch. I think it's better axle and tons of after markets parts available. You can find them in ford crown vic and with disc brakes.

If you just go Super35 you'll save a ton of time and money. The Dana 35 also has more clearance under the diff and weighs less. You might have specific things that make the Dana 44 worthwhile but make sure it's not just axle envy.
