One more time I have had my heart ripped out. To some people this may seem trivial but not for me. Yesterday I couldn't find my buddy. She was a 8 pound Siamese cat. Has been my companion for the past 10 or 12 years.

I called her my puppy kitty because she acted just like a dog. Followed me into the shop, sat around and gave meow advise once in a while. Then she would wander into the house and help my wife make the bed, fold the laundry and read the paper.

When it was bed time I'd open the back sliding door and say Shady, time to come in now. She would let out a merow, and come right in. Then I'd ask her if she was ready for bed and got another merow and she would run for the bedroom. By the time I got there she was sitting on the bed waiting.

I found her laying in the back yard-—-dead. No sign of trauma or poisoning. No struggle indications just dead.
I did a bunch of research on cat sudden death and found its not uncommon. Cardiomiopthy seem to be widespread. Cats walking without sign or symptoms one second and dead of a heart attack the next.

Sad day in out lives. She was a huge part of our lives.

I'm so sorry for your loss.:( How old was she?

I always dread the day I find one of our pets dead. I know it's coming, it just stinks. The good thing is that at least it wasn't some sort of a traumatic death.

I lost my Siamese Toby last January under similar circumstances on the bathroom rug, he was a good boy so I know how you feel. I think our Rottie is still looking for him as they were best buddies.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

This brings back very bad memories for me cuz I lost my partner last year after 14 years and still not over it. I won't get into the details but let me tell you this, cat, dog, or other family pet, it don't matter, they are no different from us and the hurt is the same. It is family and It sucks when they go.

Be strong.

She was 12/13 and appeared in perfect health. Wife is still weepy eyed

So tragic... 12/13, she still probably had some years in her. Our old neighbors outdoor cat lived to be 20!

I'm really sorry to hear this - losing a family pet is one of the worst things ever. I still miss my dogs greatly, and it's been years :(

Thanks guys. It is good to share feels sometimes.

I know this a few weeks old but sorry for your loss. We have 3 Siamese and you are right, they are like dogs in many ways . hope things are getting better with time.

I still find myself talking to her
