Made this about a year ago because I wanted a large secure area for my stuff and wasn't using my back seat.
I also wanted to bring a cooler and have access to it with out moving stuff during weekend treks.
It also works with the top on.
I really have liked it and thought someone else could do something like this and improve or modify it for their own needs.
I also built a DIY trunk with the backseat installed if you need that option.
All in I spent $75 bucks and parts were from home improvement stores and Amazon.
Its not metal and I would not put a $3000 dollar item back there and leave it overnight, but for weekend treks and running around town it works well.
The only difficult part was getting the top deck installed over the rear of the tub without making it two pieces.
The solution was removing one side of the sound bar bracket to be able to lift it out of the way to then install the deck.
It takes maybe fifteen minutes to install or remove, no drilling or cutting tub, seat belts and all brackets stay installed, and I can lock the tailgate and have a reasonably secure storage area.
