Does anyone run trail doors / half doors on the trail?

I try not to run any doors on trails, but sometimes it's snow wheeling here, so I have hard doors and hardtop on those days.

If I bought some trail doors, I'd buy the Savvy. I liked their features better than the others.

Sounds like maybe a set of cheap soft doors are what's needed to get you to the trails and back. Then doorless on the trail!
She is trailed to the trails and back. Soft doors were not enough on our old CJ. I’m trying to find the correct balance of family needs.

My wife's camera gear costs more than my Jeep. Some form of lock is essential. While the Jeep is rarely left alone, we do hike some on the trail or get food at a local restaurant etc..

I wonder if the savvy doors could be fit with a lock on the outside. Kinda like a Tuffy gig??

You do realize that those are purpose built doors without an upper, right?

I’d probably solve the “expensive things need to be locked up” problem somewhere else, maybe a tuffy console or rear drawer (or other rear lockable tool box).

Bolt lockable storage into the Jeep. Half doors protect nothing from thieves

Ya, I have five Tuffy boxes in the TJ, all keyed alike. The door lock is just a precaution. Not 100% needed but would be nice, like the ability to put soft uppers.

They look solid, how do they feel in use?
They rattle compared to factory doors. I haven’t tried any other trail doors to compare to. I have added weather stripping to quiet them down. The uppers don’t fit as well as factory either.

I like them on the trail but run factory ones while daily driving the jeeps.

Being that the shape is near identical in all of the aluminum aftermarket doors, does anyone think the genright door storage system could be adapted to say the savvy or UCF doors?
