Does anyone use a Trammel tool?

I am wondering if anyone here uses a trammel arm to measure? I use them on other projects to check for parallel on bolts and for checking for square. I was wondering if anyone uses them on their jeeps. Tim

I use them often in my construction work but I never considered them for anything on a Jeep

I use a version of it when I check square on axles. I don't use a tape measure, I just clamp a square to a long straight edge, bump one end into the axle tube, set the square to the center of the middle skid plate bolt and make both sides the same. I don't use a tape for much when I am setting a rig up. If it do use one, it is simply to same me the trouble of making marks on sticks and carrying the stick to the other side.
