Does this exhaust connection need a gasket?

Fixing an exhaust leak today and I'm wondering if this connection takes a donut gasket or bolts together metal on metal. I saw one thread mention some 2000 and newer were metal on metal but it was a little unclear.

My Jeep is a 2000 TJ with the 4.0
