Is there any affordable scan tool that functions like a Mopar DRB3 tool that I can get my cam sensor 100% in sync? I’m in the process of rebuilding my engine and I did the “toothpick” in the hole method as the FSM says. On my previous engine I did this and it ran ok but while I had it at the dealership with a different issue they still had to turn it to get it to 0. On the engine I’m rebuilding I marked the block with the sensor at tdc at the top of the compression stroke as the FSM says. I did this before I disassembled the engine. To my knowledge this sensor has never been moved since it was assembled from the factory. Now that I am reassembling the engine and put the compression stroke is at TDC the holes don’t quite line up when I line up my marks from when I took the engine apart. I had to turn the cam sensor housing to a point that it would retard the timing of the cam sensor a little. So I’m curious if there is a tool besides finding a high dollar DRB3 tool that will allow me to sync the cam sensor without having to take my Jeep to the dealer. I’d rather pay twice the price of what it would cost at a dealer to have a tool that I can have for repeated use but don’t want to pay $3200 for a mopar tool.
