Drivers hard door weather strip

hey does the new weather striping have the metal track on it that goes along the bottom part of the door?
looks like the price is 157.00

Just opened the box again to see what is included in kit. The rubber seal has pins retained in the rubber to position and retain the seal, but comes with no metal track in the box or inserted into the seal material. The kit also comes with several clear plastic templates with holes for identifying the pin locations on the door.

IIRC, i bought an OMIX off Amazon for less. there is a knockoff that the pin locations were moved (thinkin the Crown, but not sure). but was only mentioned in the product reviews.

are all your pins intact? are the holes all tight and grip the pins securely?

those door guards suck they are just a dirt and moisture trap...........mask off around the area you want protected and paint it. now you got extra protection with no profile.

no pins, your missin the pins, you can see the holes in the door, but no pins in the rubber to secure it. i don't remember that other strip on the door on my 04 but it could be my CRS.

Actually it’s a plastids rail that is stuck with adhesive tape

was the seal glued into that strip and maybe they missed a spot? are there holes in the rubber that would accommodate pins? if not you maybe just slather some construction adhesive in there and push the rubber back in and tape it up until set.

man i can go look at my door it's off right now but it's like 17* out there right now.

There are pins in the plastic rail that the rubber slides into. But not many

Interesting... not sure who the manufacturer was of the rubber seals that you guys purchased, but the Mopar OEM that I purchased already has the captive pins inside the rubber seal.

clean the channel with alcohol and use double sided tape?

No sir this is a press in seal this is the bottom of the weather seal

The pins that are captive in the rubber seal are also colored to identify what holes in the door the pins are to be inserted into.

Also my rail is plastic and it’s put on with double face tape and a couple pins. So it’s got to be an after market rigged weather strip

Ya know that might be why the the bottom entry guard has pulled the weather strip off in the first place. There is bounce face tape holding the rail to the door. And that could be making things wider than they should be. Just a thought

I’m wondering if I take everything off , the weather sEAL and the plastic rail if there are holes for pins for the OEM WEATHER SEAL

i'd paint some gorrilla glue or liquid nails into the channel and push it back together and let it set up in the house b4 going out into the freezing temps. if that doesn't last you can pull it off and go from there.

that puffy tape on the entrance guard is likely the issue the form is a 1/16th and so is the tape , that kills 1/2 of your 1/4" door gap.
