Engine code help P0456

Hey all, started it up today and had a code. Plugged in my scanner and got this code. P0456. Appreciate any help narrowing it down!

I occasionally get that... in fact just got it yesterday.


Chances are.. it's a gas cap.

Either failing.. or simply not tightened.


Worse case scenario could be eroding hoses, etc..

That is an "Evaporative emission control leak detected". My reference also adds (very small leak).
Could be the gas cap like Sancho said. If you replace the gas cap and clear the code, and the P0456 returns, then start tracing the lines and hoses from your EVAP canister to the gas tank and back.
Or what might be cool to use in this instance is a smoker, hook it up to an EVAP hose and that should show the leak.
