Hey guys-

Earlier this week, I started hearing a noise coming from under my TJ. Truthfully, I don’t know where it’s coming from. I thought it may have been my transmission. I’ve read that noise coming from that area may just be low fluid. So I changed it and still heard the noise. I’ve attached a video to help you guys hear what I’m talking about.
Id greatly appreciate your thoughts or even links to past threads.
This is an urgent issue. I haven’t been able to find a post that’ll help. Thank you

So video won’t play. But it’s a noise I def hear coming from engine. It’s not knock, but certainly sounds like something is tapping. You hear it when it’s on idle and it gets louder when I rev it up.

Could be a lifter tick. Sounds like a baby rod knock. I've had good luck with adding some Marvels Mystery Oil to the crankcase to help fix a lifter tick. People will start crying 'Snake Oil!', but it has worked for me on several engines.
Of course this is a guess, not hearing the noise myself, but it is a cheap fix if it heps.

upload your video to YouTube. Then embed the link here.

I can't diagnose the sound, leave that for someone like @Goatman, (see video above), but why does the CCV valve not have a hose running to the airbox?

Could be a lot of things. Sounds like rod knock. Remove spark plug wires one at a time, see if it goes away.

Cracked exhaust manifold, maybe? Earlier TJs are more likely to develop them and eventually a new design was put in.
