someone mentioned in a thread a certain engine oil to try prior to committing to a RMS change but i lost the thread.
Does anyone remember the oil recommended?

Thanks

I dont know about a recommendation, but I had a RMS leak that left a spot about the size of a 50 cent piece over night. I switched to 10w30 High mileage about 500 miles ago and it's now completely gone. I have 116k on an 06, 4.0.

Guys over on BITOG likes the Valvoline Maxlife brand. I've used it myself prior to my RMS completely going out. It did slow the drip but eventually it had to be changed out.

I might be the only one but I say just change the rear main engine seal. I had to do it about a year ago and it’s not a terrible job. And personally I like to run synthetic oil. Give the oil everyone is suggesting a try and worst case you can change the rear main engine seal it only took me an afternoon. Just make sure you set the seal right.
