You just described my two daily drivers.

Don't know if I could get used to "column shift" but I have never driven an automatic for more than a few minutes

The fastest car at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed was the Ford Super Mustang Mach-E race car• 1,421 Horsepower • Tri-Motor Powertrain • 50 kWh battery designed for short, intense runs. • 800V Architecture • 710 kW Regenerative Braking • Generates 6,900 lbs of downforce at 150 mph The runner up was a Gen 4 Formula E car. EVs are dominating this year.
they had me when he said the armrest is the same part as the center console lid. Glad somebody is finally looking for opportunities to make something less expensive instead of just making it more expense for no reason.
I really don't understand the reflexive dislike for EVs. Cars and truck are nothing but tools or toys. Having strong negative feelings about somebody else's tools and toys is dumb. Unless we are bagging on cybertrucks and their owners of course. I won't own a current EV because none of them are anywhere close to working for my needs. I'm looking forward to the day that one will have the range, towing capacity, and price point where it will work. All the torque at the first RPM is a really good thing.

For me it's because in my experience (with a couple exceptions) the owners are self righteous a holes that genuinely believe their car is good for the environment.

I actually enjoy driving, which is one reason I have manual transmission vehicles, and also why I don’t have anything that tries to drive for me.Cars and truck are nothing but tools or toys.
I can't say as I have a dislike of EVs as a concept. As they're currently (see what I did there?) implemented, I want nothing whatsoever to do with them. If they'd make one the way I want one, I'd probably buy one
