Hi all, so I’m getting the exact same symptoms for a faulty purge valve with the p0443 code and a p0306 code and a rough idle and I believe this may be the problem. I pulled the vacuum line for the purge valve and this is what it sounds like. When I did this I also got the exact same codes that I’ve been getting. Any thoughts?

I just replaced my evap solenoid and charcoal cannister on my 97. And did a smoke test.

You think the purge valve could be my problem?

Charcoal poured out of mine. And it wasn't clicking when I put a screwdriver against it and my ear.

Disconnect it and see... although you have a different one buried by the fill neck. Not up top and easy like the early models.

I disconnected it and it wasn’t clicking but it doesn’t do anything when it’s just at idle and I’m getting the exact same symptoms as a bad purge valve, what do you mean by charcoal was pouring out of it?

Also mine does have the easier one to get to, it’s an 02, 03 is when they switched to it being buried

My charcoal cannister failed...the valve opens and draws vacuum through the cannister...the charcoal had failed and was loose and got sucked into the valve, jamming it and likely breaking it. I replaced both...I used a Duralast VC120 cannister since there are no direct replacements. It's slightly larger.
