Occasionally, I get a code thrown on my Jeep. I don't recall the number, but it's an O2 sensor code, and the end analysis is usually that there is a leak in the exhaust header. From what I've read, simply tightening up those bolts to torque specs fixes the problem.
The problem is that there seems to be quite a bit of equipment between me and the exhaust header. What I wanted to know is if there's an easy way to tighten up those bolts without having to take the throttle body, fuel rail, etc off.
My methodology for fixing issues is that you always look for the cheap and low-effort fix first, then move your way up. If I have to go the distance and remove all of those parts off the engine, I might as well just pull the header and swap out the gasket while I'm in there. Just tightening the bolts is a much easier fix to try first, if I can do it without removing much. I just don't know if there are any tricks to doing it, or if it's possible at all.
