I need a new exhaust. I do not need an emissions test to pass inspection. Do I need to keep the sensors hooked up that are currently there on exhaust pipe? Options in choosing a new exhaust system are welcome. Thanks

The O2 sensor on the catalytic converter only monitors the cat's performance. You can remove it without affecting how the engine runs but you'll have a constant check-engine light afterward. The upstream O2 sensor mounted just below the headers is definitely required, the computer uses that one to set and keep the air-fuel mixture set properly.

Thanks Jerry. Based on that info they will stay connected. Thank you:)
