Exogate with Savvy Corners and Savvy Tub Sliders - Any Experience?

I have a 1998 TJ on 35s with 4” backspacing, Savvy corners and Savvy Tub sliders and a Rock Hard bumper tire carrier combo.

I like the Rock Hard bumper but want to ditch the tire carrier portion for the weight savings and convenience of the exogate. My plan is to simply remove the tire carrier and saw the mounting stop off flush with the bumper. Easy enough…

I have never seen a Exogate in person so I am not sure what else needs to be considered when installing it with Savvy corners and sliders on the tub. I assume that I will need aluminum spacers that run the length of the tail gate hinge and 4 snubbers.

I hate to start a project only to find out I am up unable to complete it due for lack of planning, parts or materials. So, to those that have a similar setup or experience, what if anything else do I need to consider?

The exogate has a 3/16" steel plate around the tailgate, so you won't need spacers under the hinges as you'll already have it. You will need to extend your snubbers and I'd recommend raising the tire carrier, you can get the tire another ~2" up which may be beneficial to you (just flip the upper flange under the lip, extend the lower and drill new holes).

One other thing is you have to clearance the rub rail for the top hinge.

I appreciate the tip on how to the tire mount up 2 inches. I see that the Exogate come with an offset bracket that “moves the mount up and back. I believe I read somewhere (can’t find it to verify) that the bracket moves up the mount about 2” but didn’t see a reference to how much further out it extends the mount.

That bracket moved it out enough I didn't use it. I also didn't want the tire out any further (had my tire not been sitting against the hinge I would have looked to bring it in more).
