Here is a controversial topic. Only reason why I say that is because last year I posted this on a different forum and I got negative feedback. If it helps at least one person I am happy.

Last year I found out about Sprint having free service for a year. I was skeptical but looked into it and it was legit. This month is the end of the free year and I was able to successfully renew for another free year.

Last time around I got feedback that sprint sucks, etc. I have 4 lines unlimited everything for free! I just pay insurance at $13 for 2 lines that have a newer phone (Note 8). Otherwise it is FREE. I used to pay about $200 with limited data, minutes, etc. I'm at $30 per month now and UNLIMITED everything.

In my area I get upwards of 100mps download speed and 70mps during peak times. I never lose a call except when I go camping 6 hrs away in the boonies.

This is good for someone that has good Sprint coverage and eligible phones. I bought used sprint Iphones for my little brother and mom that live a few cities away. If anyone is interested I can give info. A SPRINT link or phone number. Theres is nothing in it for me. You do it thru Sprint online or Sprint call center. Not thru some shady individual

I have Sprint, and while I don't think it's the greatest carrier in the world, it is what it is. My wife deals with the cell phones, and I am going to pass this onto her to take a look at. The fact that you have been doing this for the past year (almost) says something about the legitimacy of the plan/offer/situation.

I'm not sure if they are, or not. I'll ask my wife, and see what she says. I truly have nothing to do with the phones (plans, bills, etc), as she's the one who feels the need to have 'em, so I let her deal with them. I'm sure she'll be interested in how this works, though, so thank you, again.

I saved $2040 my first year. I just renewed and I will be saving another $2040. I just hope this deal lasts to renew again next year cause it will hurt going from unlimited everything on 4 lines for $30 total per month against limited data for $200/month!

Only catch is you have to own eligible phones. Also sprint might suck in your area but not for me I get about 70-100mps here.

Anyways, I just renewed one line yesterday and will move the rest when I am not lazy

Ok here's my mini write up for sprint customers that own their phone and are not in a contract.

This steps will move you from Sprint to Tmobile prepaid and then back to Sprint(free year promotion)


1. Buy a Tmobile digital sim card. You get instant delivery and only $3.

2. Have your Sprint account number and pin ready.

3) You don't have to topup/ reload the Tmobile digital SIM. Once receive the digital SIM card number, call Tmobile Prepaid customer care 1-877-778-2107 to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint acct number, PIN , phone number and T mobile SIM card number. The automated system will ask for activation code so you will need to press 0 to speak to a rep. If rep asks for an activation code tell them it is not necessary- only the SIM card number is needed. IMPORTANT:ask to setup a pin if you were not asked by the rep. If you dont make a pin will not be able to port into sprint. Also if they ask you to add funds into the account tell them you will do so later. (I never added funds to my Tmobile acct since it's prepaid but some reps insist)

4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes. Your Tmobile Account number will be your phone number prefixed by 1 Ex: 1 214-xxx-xxxx and the pin number will be the one that you setup initially during the porting or activation process. Note that for each line in Tmobile prepaid, it will be a separate account number i.e. the phone number of each line prefixed by 1 for that line. Again PIN number would be what you have set during number porting/activation for each line.

5) Wait for ~ 20 minutes to verify the completion of the T-mobile port and the cancellation of your Sprint account. Port is complete when your existing Sprint phone stops working (no calls/ no text/ no internet)

6) Now call back sprint telesales number 1866-782-8777 to sign up for the 1 year BYOD free plan and port back your number from Tmobile with a new SSN if you were an existing Sprint customer in the last 45 days. Ie: I was the original sprint customer, after porting we used my GFs SSN.
You can reuse the original sim card that was on the original Sprint plan.

7. After verifying everything you will be good to go for a free year. Verbally confirm that you got the $30 activation fee waived as part of the promotion. Also if you do not want insurance on your phone verify that too. Reps are know to try and sneak it in.


Finally as a last tip. Do not go into the store for any account modifications during the entire free year. There is known cases of reps at the store not knowing how to process changes with free accounts and they revert them to paid plans accidentally.

Dang! LOL You've got this down, don't you? I am going to run this by the wife, and see if she thinks she can handle it. She's not the most patient woman in the world, sometimes, and if anything started to go a little sideways, she might have the entire family using Dixie cups and string!
