Factory radio options

I am not sure if this was an option but I know 2003 jeeps had cassette decks. Did they ever have a factory combo unit of cassette and CD that'll fit that later model jeep TJ? I have an 04. Not looking to trim any interior pieces for an older model TJ radio, but would be nice to rock some cassettes!

If that was an option, and you have one and want to get rid of it. let me know!

I don't know if the later model Jeeps ever came with one, but if you look at the later model year radios for other FCA products, they have a CD and cassette combo that will fit the later TJs as long as the plug at the back is the same! I believe the trucks use the same plug.

The little searching I have done, I noticed the Chrysler products using the same radio across a few vehicles. I think they did do a combo… which would be awesome!

I believe our 99 XJ Limited had the cassette and CD combo. Might be the correct size.

Thanks for the response! I believe those radios are more square than the later TJ models. I’ve only seen that online. I found a guy local parting out an 03 ram 1500. He has the combo player, I am going to bring my radio to compare. But from the pictures they look pretty dang close!

I don’t think they ever came in the TJ’s but any of the Chryslers/Dodge/Grand Cherokee combo units should be plug and play. They all had the same wiring. Just have to make sure you get the same era, like you noticed. The early ones are more square with later being rounded. My 99 had a Grand Cherokee combo unit in it for a period of time.

Have a '1Factory' radio in an '02 Dodge/Cummins. It is AM/FM Cassette & disc . . . and modified by 1Factory for SiriusXM.
These are the OEM radio units that have the radio/cassette/disc combinations: RBB, RAD, RBY, RBT, REH.
Mine is the RBB unit.

I call it subscription free music when the radio gets dull.

Pulled the one out of the 03 ram. Helped the guy move some parts , and he gave me the radio no charge. Cassette player works great! I saw that website shortly after the post. Definitely didn’t want to spend that kind of coin!
