So ok I got the idea from The Boogieman's TJ to cover a few deep trail scratches on my fenders that stuck out like dogs balls on my all black paint but could not get them sent to australia from US, then they showed up on Amazon 3 weeks ago but different maker so I bought them, They were advertised as "Textured TJ fender Decals made from strong UV resistant EVA material" but what I received was what seems to be Flat Black powder coated aluminium/alloy TJ fender covers.
Should I complain or be thankful? They are only 1mm (.040") thick so not armour.

China at its best lol

Chances are they will ignore any complaint anyway.

I have the same ones I think. I bought them because they were supposed to be vinyl and were metal when they showed up. I just added some more 3M tape and used them. My textured vinyl ones lasted 3 years before the sun got to them and they peeled off.

I thought they were a bit heavy and in a rather large box for decals when they arrived and then they were in another box with foam and bubble wrap. They only use 3m tape so I might as well put them on because its still easier than trying to fix the scratches, most people dont even notice the scratches because I used a touch up paint pen but they annoy me!

That's exactly what I thought when they arrived. My vinyl ones were rolled up in a tiny box. I thought they sent me the wrong item, but they worked out good. Put them on straight the first time. That 3M tape doesn't want to come off easy once you push them down into place. Remove any wax from your paint with rubbing alcohol before installing them too.
