Final A/C Parts Help

Ok, so I am trying to install a a.c. system in a non a.c. Jeep. I have ordered most all the parts from Rockauto. I think all I'm missing is the vacuum actuator for the recirculation door, the vacuum line going to it, the control panel with the a.c. switches, and the circulation door assembly. This is my DD so I really need to get the dash back together. I'm just at a bit of a loss as to were to get these parts and make sure I get the right thing. Any help, suggestions, links or how to would be greatly appreciated!

Some what. I'd rather buy as much of this stuff new as possible. I also dont really have time to be running around in Houston trying to find stuff.

Thanks Chris I think I'm finding what I need. But my head is just spinning right now. Lets be clear, this is my first vehicle. I'm not new to a wrench by any means but, my expirance has been with much more mechanical and simple things a.k. offroad racing buggys. I also thank my dad for now needing no help to change oil, brake pads etc. Not a stranger to engines and other things like that. But this a.c. has knocked me back on my heels. Ok, so 1998 I6 with slide controls and no a.c. from the factory. The under hood stuff is fairly simple but I have completely lost my mind trying to figger this controls thing out. I have been doing hours of research only to get more confused.

1-Do I need to switch to the 3 knob style?
2-If so, what changes do I need to make to the vacuum system if any?
3-Do I need to install the air recirculation door?
4-how do I run the vacuum line for the door actuator.

I probably could have bought the kit or had a shop install it but was hoping to save some to get th lift going sooner. Also thought the experience would be good for me but I'm having second thoughts. I know the instructions are on jeep air but they are kind of unclear on some of these things, youtube hasn't been as helpfull as I hoped. Thanks to anyone and everyone who is willing to help!

Oh yeah, your guess is as good as mine. I'm not new to vehicles by any means either, but I've never once in my life installed an A/C system on a vehicle that didn't have it, nor have I done more than replace a compressor and condenser. Beyond that though, I think your best bet is either going to be referring to the FSM, original parts diagrams, or even seeking out a wrecked TJ in a local auto salvage yard and seeing if you can take it apart to see what it looks like and where things go. I wish I could be of more help, but believe me when I say I'm just as confused as you are

Thanks for mentioning the parts diagram and FSM! I hadn't thought to look at those. Also the wreaked TJ thing, that was my original plan, but went and checked the three biggest yards in Houston and they were BIG, but not a single TJ.

I installed AC in my 2000 TJ two summers ago using a kit from Jeep Air which I highly recommend. If you go to the Jeep Air web site and click on instructions in the upper left you will find the instructions for installing AC in your TJ. It should answer any questions you may have. They also sell the parts individually so they can also help you with the parts you need.
