This probably isn't of much interest to you unless you play guitar. I'm a guitar freak, and borderline obsessed with playing guitar. I decided to put together my own guitar with no holds barred, and this is what I came up with.

Part of my reason for building my own guitar was that I got so sick of playing every single guitar you can buy off the shelf (you name it, I've played it) and all of them having pencil thin necks. I want a FAT neck, I mean baseball bat size. With this custom build I ordered the largest neck you can, called a "Fatback". This thing is 1" from the 1st fret, all the way down to the 12" fret. It truly is a behemoth of a guitar neck, which suits my hands better than any guitar I've ever played.

Every single part on this guitar was selected by me, from the top quilt maple, to the AAA grade flame maple neck. The hardware, the pickups, the color, etc... All of it was custom made exactly to my specs by Warmoth, and then I wired it and assembled it (and set it up) myself.

I'm very proud of the way this thing turned out.

Oh, and a few specs on it:

Quilt Maple Top
Swamp Ash Body
Brown-to-Clear Burst Finish
Ivoroid Binding (Body & Neck)
Rear Rout
Seymour Duncan "Quarter Pounder" Pickups
AAA Grade Flame Maple Neck
Pau Ferro Fretboard
"Fatback" Neck Profile
No Neck Inlays

C'mon @Chris ..you should know by now that even if we don't play the guitar we still appreciate a well thought and executed design. Nice work love that Swamp ash body.
@Cisco Kid That 1966 Norma Hollow Body Bass is awesome, love that old school looks...reminds me of 'Back to the Future' and when I saw Chuck Berry play at a local concert

Oh yeah, I can tell you’ve played those things plenty! That’s great though, I love seeing guitars that have been worn and weathered from years of playing.

That hollow body bass looks fantastic too! I really love a nice hollow body.

@Chris
How long was the build and did you order parts from everywhere or the same shop?

Yep, I ordered all of it from Warmoth, even the hardware. It took about 10 weeks, but that’s because they custom built it to my exact specs. If you buy one of their in-stock bodies and necks, you could have it done in a week.
