Flashers and signals stop working on occasion

Every once in a while my turn signals and flashers stop working. I’d say this happens once every month or two. They stop working anywhere from an hour to a full day. Then they magically begin to work again. The running lights work fine.

I’ve installed a new multi switch and flasher relay. The bulbs are good and I don’t see any corrosion in the bulb sockets. The grounds are screwed down tightly and appear to have a solid connection.

A few months back I put some LEDs in my dash cluster. Could that be the problem? Do I need an LED flasher relay? I wouldn’t think so since my turn signals are regular bulbs. Please help.

LEDs in the dash cluster shouldn’t cause an issue. It sounds like a loose wire or wiring harness somewhere

Could be a loos or corroded ground somewhere.

For those interested I’ve isolated the problem to the plug that connects into the back of the multiswitch. The plug is dried out and is literally crumbling apart, which results in a bad connection. So it looks like I’ll be replacing the plug. Doesn’t seem fun at all.
