This is the second failure of a major player in the automotive sector with Tricolor, a major auto loan lender
I see Trico on that list, the wiper blade company, but not Tricolor the lender to illegals. Am I missing something?

I use Mopar, motorcraft for OEM diesel engines and K&N for everything else, I like K&N for hard to reach filters cause of the hex head on the bottom.
You are gonna believe whatever you want regardless of the truth. That said, my part in that is precisely what I posted above. If Fram was as bad as the internet would have you believe, the highways would be littered with dead in the water cars and they aren't and never have been. FYI- I don't and never have run Fram except for the odd air filter here and there. Not a fan, never have been. But, I don't let my preferences affect my common sense and objectivity. If you care to understand my dislike, if their filters were black or silver, I'd run them.![]()
Oh hell yeah, every K&N filter I put on comes with a sticker, and I get an extra 5hp every time I put one on. Dyno proven.

And that doesn't even take into account the improved power to weight ratio since your wallet is so much lighter...
My personal belief is that other than preventing catastrophic failure of something that stops oil from circulating and seizes the engine with a quickness, very little else matters very much in filters. We just don't get much into the oil that needs to be removed. The truth is, Fram had a LOT of issues in the early 2000s. And - if you believe Jerry - they ADMITTED it.
Back in school I worked at auto parts stores and discovered that MOPAR and Ford filters are interchangeable. I use the slightly larger Motorcraft FL1A or Wix 51515 oil filters on the 4.0 since there’s plenty of room with the filter hanging straight down.I run Fram filters when I can find Mopar ones.

I've also been using the fl1a on the 4.0 but what's this about the filter hanging straight down? Do you have a rotated filter mount or a 4.0 on something other than a TJ? I've had 3 ranging from 99 to 2006 and all have had the filter point straight out the side of the block.
Also, I've been considering switching lately because the fl1a has seen dramatic changes to price and availability in the last couple of years, presumably to how few vehicles are on the road that it still fits. They used to be 1.99 and I think the last one I bought was $10 and I did it locally because it wasn't even a Prime item on Amazon.
what's this about the filter hanging straight down?
