My 1997 TJ left me stranded in a parking lot with what I assumed was a fuel pump issue. Local garage had it for over a week then the dreaded call came. They dropped the tank and replaced the pump but it still would not start. No power to the fuel pump. All connection and fuses were examined and cleaned. Still no power to the pump. Garage says it is an issue with the computer and beyond their skill level. Anyone have a similar experience? Any good sources for a replacement computer?.

I'd personally want to know the extent of their diagnostics before dropping coin on a new computer. These days, I see a lot of shops and so called "mechanics" absolutely suck at electrical troubleshooting. I'd at least try to insure there's truly no power all the way back to the source, which should be easy enough to do, before pulling the trigger on a new computer.

With all of the parts changers masquerading as mechanics these days, I have trust issues with this sort of thing.
