In process of adding alloy USA front chromolly axles to my 05 LJ. Since the axles are larger in diamer, than the stock axles, and the alloy USA didn’t come with any dust shields (plastic discs that prevent mud and dirt going into the axle tubes) does any aftermarket make ones for larger axles? I don’t think you can get the OEM ones to fit, might try heading up the plastic a bit to test. Worse case I leave it open and exposed.
Second question, why do the later TJ not have essentric bolt adjustments in the front lower link at the axle connect point? Can you add? It looks the slot on the axle side is an elongated circle, meaning the bolt can move forward and back, but not up and down. The outside where the washer goes is held in place with a horse shoe shaped retainer. So the way I see it, an adjustable cam bolt might allow for forward and backwards adjustment only. Am I looking at this the right way?
