Examples: Nodular iron differential covers Half differential cover armor Differential ramps Heavy duty tie rods and drag links (ZJ steering, Savvy tie rod, etc.) Axle tube sleeves Mini skid plates for LCA mounts Beefier knuckles Stronger steering boxes Steering box skid plates Large angled bumpers Radiator skids Engine skids Axle trusses Stronger pitman arms Stronger control arms and joints Stronger driveshafts Full replacement Dana 44 or Dana 60 front axles Big brake kits High steer kits Stronger trackbars Crossover or inverted T steering Some of these features are of arguable benefit. Some are more common than others and some will increase impact resistance more than others.

I am picturing something like a bull bar... Click to expand... A skid plate that is angled like a ramp. Usually installed on vehicles with IFS to protect everything between the LCAs, especially the front differential Since the entire axle moves on a TJ, there’s no good place to bolt them on. With double wishbone IFS, you simply bolt them to the frame by the front LCA mounts and to the bumper or crossmember.

Otherwise I would stick to a stronger steering system, steering box skid, oil pan skid, control arms skids, and stronger diff cover. Reactions: Steel City 06

No need for that on a Wrangler which utilizes a straight axle in the front. Reactions: EJD
