For the front crankshaft seal, FSM calls for “perfect seal” on the outer lip. Can I use black RTV? Getting mixed answers when I search- some say use Aviation form-a-gasket, some say black RTV. Some say definitely don’t use black RTV. Anyone know acceptable substitute for “perfect seal”?

I just tapped mine in with a little motor oil and zero issues (so far.)
Was more concerned with getting it centered.
