Front door window tinting

I’ve got a buddy adding window tinting to his car repair shop business. Offering to tint my front door windows for me, just need to pick from his available tint. 20% or 35% tint. Haven’t really ever given it much thought. Anyone running either 20 or 35 with some pics or opinions? I have a OEM soft top with tinted plastic windows today.

While I dont have any pics, the 35% should match pretty close to your rear tinted soft top windows.

Good free advice! Looks like GA states must allow more than 32% light in. So 35 looks to be the legal option.

I'd do 35%. Anything darker than that is just too dark for me!

Yeah, no kidding, no tints at all. When I was selling a car last year a guy from NJ said he was interested but I had to remove the tints because they were illegal.

Currently I have 20% tints with no issues, and we are 35% max by law in Connecticut.

20% or 35% is a matter of opinion, and what you like. I opted for 20% so it matches the windows in the hardtop. I'll snap a picture later on and post it up.

Thanks Skrelnik, looks great! I opted for the 35% legal tint, now just need to wait for them to summon my Jeep to the shop. Ill get some before and afters once they do.

Even in Arizona the front windows have to be at least 35% according to the law. The guy that did the tint on my previous TJ recommended 20% to match the hard top windows and I thought it looked nice.

I liked his analogy: having 20% tint up front in Arizona is like driving 5 mph over the speed limit. Could you get pulled over? Sure, but it's highly unlikely.

The only issue I had with the tint was that it was too reflective on the inside, so when sunlight was hitting the dash it was reflected on the window as well, making it hard to see out of the window occasionally.

THIS ^^^ Local laws count. But anywhere you drive, you may have to comply.

BC does not allow any tint on the windshield or driver/front passenger windows.
And this summer is zero tolerance. Even if you are from out of province.
In extreme cases, they will tow and impound your vehicle.

Minimum, you get a ticket plus an order to have an inspection to verify compliance.

Same with loud exhaust, zero tolerance and "at the officers discretion", no need to use a meter to determine "how loud is it"

looks good when it's a dark tint but it sucks to see out of at night. i have had fla troopers pull me over in my dodge magnum when i had bought it and pull a meter to measure the tint. pulled it off when i got home ( no ticket) and had the legal shade installed

My front windows are done in a Carbon Tint... 35%. They match the windows in the top and is the legal limit in Texas....

i had 15% on my mustang back in the day and it was awesome all the time at night was a little harder to see but i was usually in well lite areas.
