Front driveshaft rebuild balancing question

The Spicer rebuild kits are back in stock at Dennys DriveShafts and I was thinking about saving some money and rebuilding mine on my own. I've had the rear done already at a local shop who mostly outsourced to a driveshaft shop.

Question is, when I rebuild, do I need to have it re-balanced?

Just joints? Should be all good. Only get it rebalanced if you have some vibes or notice a bad difference after.

I just rebuilt mine and threw it back on, no vibes.

Yup, the joints and yoke. At this point, I have no vibrations.

Should be clear to just rebuild no balance.

For good measure, I mark all the yokes and the centering yoke so everything is oriented the same after the rebuild to avoid introducing vibes.

Believe it or not that was on my to do. I did that when I removed it years ago while trying to track down a chirp that ended up being the rear shaft needle bearings.

Up here in the great northern rustbelt the DS is often so rusted and pitted that it looks like the surface of the moon. Rebuilding has often caused vibes as the balance weight(s) have gone missing many miles ago. I don't know why they don't start a vibe then, but frequently will after you rebuild it. Just be aware the problem may show up. And be ready to need a re-balance of the DS.
