I'm replacing front axle seals this spring (if it ever comes!!)
While I have it all apart, I'm doing maintenance.
Are these the right parts?

Thanks for all the help and input I've received from the group on this forum, past, present and future!

I would recommend buying backup axle seals if you're in any hurry, especially if you're not using a specialty tool. If you press them in not straight they are ruined and you'll need another, I think I ruined 3 before I broke down and bought the tool lol

Your choice was great and what I run too.

The unit-bearing hubs changed their dimensions in mid-1999 you have to make sure you get the version for the early TJs like the Timken 513084 like at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BZ4ZZU/?tag=wranglerorg-20

For the ball joints I'd stay with these Spicers... you need two of them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007N6OHI0/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Your Spicer 5-760 choice was perfect for your front axle shafts.

For your inner axle seals for your Dana 30 I'd go for the Spicer 46470

I'm not sure what year Xj the hp 30 is from. It was put in by 2 owners ago. I'll check these out, though. Thanks Jerry

I wouldn't do the hubs or the ball joints just because you are lacking fun stuff to do. They could easily last another 100k and the new ones could fail in 10k. Check what you have and learn what good and bad is, that is far more valuable than just throwing parts at something that isn't busted. On the Dana 30 you can only press in new ball joints a few times before you can't, don't jump the gun on that one. The u-joints, I'd do those. It's a useful skill to have.

My mech told me last year ball joints were starting to wear. Because I have a spool in the rear (which is getting swapped for a Detroit this spring too) it's hard to tell if steering is loose. Maybe I'll wait till after june inspection to have hubs and ball joints checked again

I'd be careful. Joints don't start to wear, they are generally good or bad. If my mechanic told me my power steering was starting to wear I might look for another mechanic. Brakes get close to failure, most other things are either good or bad.

Timken HA597449 Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly And these are for newer Dana 30's ?? Is there a best one, see these are Timken but made in China.
