Front Shock

I replaced the back shocks. While working on the front ones, I stripped the upper nut, I noticed the shock rotates with me wrenching on the upper bolt. How do you suggest I proceed with it?
I am using channel locks to remove the upper bolt while holding the shock from rotating, I’m not getting anywhere. I am assuming cutting the upper is the answer here, right?
Would a sawzall work on it?
How would you remove the other side Without causing as much headache? I used a 16mm wrench to get this side off but ended up stripping the nut.

Assume you mean you stripped the hex head, not the threads...nut splitter?

If locking pliers/visegrips won't work (or too slow), I'd try spitting the nut off or bolt/nut extractors (thinking of Irwin/Hanson but there are likely others). These are made to lock onto the bitched up hex heads of bolts and nuts.
