Well, I have a Jeep again. I feel like a complete idiot, but I'll chalk this one up to it being the first time I've tried this repair. After dropping the tank and pulling the assembly and taking it apart, I found the problem. The pump was coming on the entire time, but it's super quiet compared to the old one and I couldn't hear it with my box fan running in the garage. The reason I couldn't get it to crank was, when I pushed the top of the pump assembly down on to the pickup tube, the rubber seal at that end got pushed down into the pickup tube and plugged the pickup, so I wasn't getting fuel to the rail. I dug the seal out, reinstalled it, lubricated it before putting it back together, and we're up and running. As Fred Sanford used to say, "You big dummy"...
