I think the best cheap slider is the cavfab. I might also think that bc I was able to get some for 100 bucks already paint matched though. Drill a few more holes on the bottom through the torque box and add a good backing plate and they seem pretty good for less than half the cost of what the nicer ones are with the only downside is not full length in the front. I found a t6 6061 flat bar that was 40in long 3in wide and 3/8 thick off Amazon that I cut down to 39 inches for a backing plate. You could fit a 4in wide one for the most coverage. The biggest plate the better. If I didn’t get such a good deal I pull be waiting for the flux sliders and still might swap if these show any fault. @Fluxor is making some savvy inspired sliders that seem to be the best but he’s a one man show doing it after work hours so don’t expect it to be ready super fast but his work is amazing. If you’re in a rush genright and jcr are the best bet.
One thing I’ve always wondered is what is the preferred slider between a Savvy/jcr/flux which is an aluminum backing with a steel corner compared to say a home made mini boat side like the Colorado dudes have made from a single sheet of 3/16 steel and an aluminum rub rail just below the door? I believe the weight is similar enough (within 10lb) that isn’t the primary reason for a design change, the savvy styled steel can be replaced for less cost but I’ve never seen any of the companies that made that style actually offer just the steel section, the mini boat side has an advantage of clearance from folding in the pinch weld. Would the preferred be a savvy styled one but with the benefit of a mini boat side but then why havnt they made that? (that is with the understanding that the savvy/jcr/flux all don’t require folding the pinch weld)
