What gears are you using? Are they used gears? Backlash is too tight for my liking. For what you have shown so far I think you are probably as close as you are going to get.

The odd patterns still make me wonder. The areas circled are jagged instead of smooth and diffuse... not sure why. Could be normal but it would drive me crazy.

Yukon recommends 6 to 10 thou in their manual. You should have received it with your gears.

It is almost like there is an artifact on the pinion or something.
