My 05 Rubicon has the wiring plumbed for the Gentex mirror upgrade, commonly found throughout the net. I know the pin read-out for a Gentex -177 7-pin mirror (only using 5 wire), yet I'm having trouble finding what the pin readout is for the connector under the defrost panel? I believe:

1: Pink/Yellow = 12v
2: Black = Gnd
3: White/ light green = Back-up lamp feed for dim
4: Violet/Yellow = sensor +
5: Violet/Blue = sensor -
6: Orange/Yellow = N/A
7: Yellow/Brown = N/A

I know the harness from mirror to connector is 56047087AC but I have some 5 pin JST connectors and 20AWG wire to make my own harness. I just need to confirm pin schematic. Also, does the attached image depict the connector used for the temp sensor at the grille?

Hopefully the info in this thread will help you: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/gentex-gntx-221-mirror-wiring.14397/

My 2003 has a factory dual-line display mirror. Assuming they used that same mirror thru the build of your 2005, that'd be a good place to start. Maybe someone else can verify if that was the only model mirror used in the TJ and thus what the factory harness would be wired for.

That thread indicates the pin configuration at the mirror. Here's from the FSM.

I think you have your pins correctly identified then. Looks like a typo in the FSM where your Violet/Blue is marked as White/Blue.

For the 2-way connector in your original post, it looks like that's located on the driver side under the hood. I'd say you're correct in identifying that as the sensor plug. According to the FSM, the wire colors should be the same as your white plug so checking those would be a good verification. On mine, the sensor is mounted in the second slot from the driver side in front of the radiator.

I never thought to look at the wiring at the sensor connector. I wonder what the other two wires are for? Courtesy/map lights for a GNTX-221?

According to the link in my first post, they're for always hot 12V and door switch ground to light the map lights when the doors are open.
