Agreed. That’s the perfect grit size to fit between the cylinder walls and the pistons…
Copper spray gasket maker will fix that right up!
Hopefully they verified the block was flat with a known good straight edge.
Further proof the 4.0 is the AK-47 of engines. Drag it through the mud, abuse it, beat on it and it'll just run.

Saw this the other day on that group. Those Facebook groups are awful! I'm about to leave every group because they're all full of nonsense, but every now and then you get something funny or actually valuable.

I would never admit this on a public forum but I have never found JBweld to be worth a shit...ever
Decking an engine block...of course not.
Trail fixes - it can be invaluable...I carry a Steel Stick JIC I need to patch up an oil pan or something to get me off a trail.
JB weld was also used to reinforce the 3d printed switch panel I had printed...drywall net tape and a coat reinforced the insides perfectly.
