As someone who just went through the search for a good mechanic in a new-to-me area, thought I'd pass along a recommendation. H & H Automotive in the Charlotte area seems like a group of good dudes. Joe (the guy running the place) is very communicative, and willing to take the time to talk things out and go over everything. They also have good prices and don't nickel and dime you on everything. There is a bit of a wait fyi to get in (last one was a month!), so always need to call ahead and make an appt. I'm not affiliated with them in anyway, just passing along my experience so far in case anyone in the area needs a guy.
