Anyone know the bolt thread for the 1999 AX15 shift lever?

If I can't get the cap off of mine to put the nut back on without tearing it up, I'm gonna replace it with something else. $140 is a little steep for a shirt knob for me.

Unfortunately, in Texas in the summer, grabbing that metal shift knob is the southern equivalent of touching your tounge to a flagpole in the frozen north.

The thread is 10mm x 1.5. I bought a shift knob on Amazon by American Shifter. They have a ton to choose from in the $20-50 range. Shaped like pool balls but I like the feel and it looks pretty cool.

Try using a heat gun.

Great find. Lots of cool looking knobs out there these days. I am on the hunt for a heavy weight perforated leather knob, which seems nearly impossible to find.
