Gun Rack Center Console?

Good Evening Everyone,
I just pulled my console to adjust my transmission linkage, and I had a thought. Has anyone mounted a vertical gun rack even with the back of the front seats (right where the console normally goes)? I don’t use the console at all, so that might be some prime real estate for a rack.

It is doable if it fits, ever saw people mounting ammo cans there instead of original storage?
Are you planning to use it as a temporary holder while hunting in the woods? Because depending on the design of the rack and your intentions for it, it may not be a bad idea or a dumb idea.
