If anyone has a need/want for a jerry can but doesn’t want to spend as much for the Wavian cans, this Harbor Freight one is a good alternative. It’s made by Midwest Can Company. It does however come with one of those hard to use safety spouts.

I have a couple Wavian cans and compared to two and they seem to be as equal quality. The welds look like the Wavian brand ones. A lot better than other brands I’ve seen. The seam is done correctly also, meaning it doesn’t protrude past the body of the can, allowing the can to sit well and not wobble around. There is a plastic screen/neck inside of it too, but it is removable and the can is coated on the inside, not bare metal.

EZ-Pour makes some adapters, spouts and caps that will work with it too. Their spouts don’t have a self venting feature though, so you’ll get that glugging action if you try to just dump the whole can.

It was around $45, but they had a sale over Memorial Day weekend for their membership thing (can’t remember what it’s called) and it was $10 more off of that. They have those sales on-and-off through the year.

If you pull the strainer, a jiggler hose would work good. My main use for it will be fuel storage during hurricane season and for the mowers.

Those frigging California inspired "safety" spouts are the work of the devil lol. At least aftermarket replacement spouts are available for most of them. Good info on the HFT quality being up there on their jerry can.
Yes, they are certainly a pain in the ass.

I just filled my emergency hurricane fuel stash for the season; something that I do every year. Coincidentally, my hitch mounted cargo carrier came from Harbor Freight Tools (around $65.00). I was concerned that it would be unusable because of my 33/12.50 spare tire, but it really worked pretty well. We also use the carrier on my wife’s Toyota Highlander.

I have that bumper dumper and love it, I had to buy an extension to clear my spare.

I had to pump gas in California in March and it took me 5 minutes to figure it out. I’m not good with directions
