Hard pull when braking

If your pads were worn down to the point that they caused this then you'd know, it wouldn't be quiet as metal on metal rarely is.

Sounds like an issue in the lines/caliper and not enough pressure getting to whichever caliper is on the side opposite the pull.
 
Check to see if the caliper is bad. That would be my main suspect. After you rule out the obvious, (tire pressure, bad brake lines, worn pads, uneven pad wear, fluid) that is almost always the reason for a pull when braking.

I'd change both front calipers and pads. You can take a gamble and get them at any auto store for around 25 bucks a piece remanufactured.

Or get these and have the best brakes made for our Tjs.
