Hard top headliner?

Did the stock hardtop include a headliner? Mine doesn't have anything but I've seen some aftermarket tops that do include insulated headliner and then found this product/kit on Stock Interiors, so now I'm not sure whether I've got a non-standard top or a top that has already had an older headliner removed.

99.999% + 0.001% sure that there was never an OEM headliner for the TJ / LJ hardtops.

Pretty sure that the JK's and JL's were the first to offer headliners / insulation from the factory.

There are a couple of suppliers of insulating panels for jeep hardtops. This one gets good marks for both sound deadening and insulation from heat. https://hotheadheadliners.com/colle...06-tj-premium-headliner-kit?variant=611970569

The JK and JL had the option from the factory but hear the after market liners are less expensive and better. You do have to figure in the installation hassles with the after market variety though that's not a consideration with TJ.

Did it last through the summer with out the glue failing in the heat?

You have to use a good commercial grade glue on the boom mat.

FWIW when I painted my hardtop Khaki from black the temperature on sunny days was much , much more bearable. Just a FYI.
