Took the Jeep into the mountains yesterday and noticed a whining noise above 3k RPMs. It is easily reproduced sitting in my driveway in neutral and revving the engine up past 3k RPMs. Unsure when the serpentine belt or any pulleys have been replaced as the Jeep is still new to me. From a glance the belt looked okay but I can take it off and inspect it further once the engine cools down as well as inspect the pulleys. Was hoping someone would be able to easily identify the issue to help save me some troubleshooting time, thanks in advance!
I was also wondering if the engine idle sounds normal for a TJ? I've read about the infamous lifter tick and can't quite tell if I'm hearing some of that at idle or if it's something else b/c of the other issue I'm trying to figure out.
